Legong (Balinese Dance)
A legong is a traditional dance performed by pre-pubescent girls in the feudal palaces of Bali. The dance derives its name from two seperate Balinese words, the first being Lega, which means happy, and the second word wong, which means person. When combined, the two words are formed together, they translate into “something that makes people happy”.
